The thief will be sent to prison for the next 20 years after pleading guilty to burglary and sexual abuse of a 12-year-old child in Cobb County.
Malik Antonio Rollins, 29, pleaded guilty to breaking into two homes earlier this week and sexually abusing a girl in one of them.
Prosecutors in Cobb Judicial Circuit Attorney Flynn Brody’s office say Rollins broke into Austell’s apartment at 2 a.m. in February 2021.

The victim reported being awakened by the sound of the bedroom door opening and screaming, frightening Rollins. He was able to get away with his two electronic tablets.
The robbery was captured by Ring cameras and shared with police.
Hours later, Rollins entered another home within walking distance of the first, prosecutors say.
The man woke up at 4 a.m. to find the courtyard door open and his son’s game console gone. Later, he noticed a light inside the children’s bedroom and found Rollins partially naked in bed with his daughter-in-law, who was 12 at the time.
The stepfather ran to the kitchen, grabbed a knife, and kicked Rollins out of the house.
Trend story:
The girl was taken to the hospital, where she told investigators she had been sodomized and sexually abused.
Police were able to track him to another apartment in the same complex as the original robbery victim, using the stolen tablet’s tracking capabilities that Rollins was unable to disable.
Rollins’ mother walked out the door and confirmed he was the man in the video. Investigators found the stolen goods inside.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery, one count of aggravated child abuse, and two counts of child abuse. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison without the possibility of parole, and he was also given 20 years of probation. Rollins should register as a sex offender.
