SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — The winner of November’s record-breaking $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot will be identified in California on Tuesday, the state lottery announced.
The person’s name will be announced at a press conference held at 11 a.m. in Sacramento by California Lottery Director Alva Johnson and Deputy Director Carolyn Becker.
The winner will not be present, but will read the winner’s comments.
Jackpot tickets were sold at the Joe’s Service Center in Altadena, an unincorporated foothills community northeast of Los Angeles. Regarding the sale of winning tickets, Business owner Joe Chahayed received a $1 million bonus.
After more than three months, the jackpot has grown to a staggering $2.04 billion without coming up with all the right numbers for the top prize.
The winning numbers were picked in Florida on November 8th after a delay of nearly 10 hours due to problems processing sales data.
