Berlin — Police said four people were killed and 30 were injured when a busy local train derailed near a popular ski resort and hiking destination in southern Germany on Friday. A police spokesman said 15 of the injured were being treated in the hospital, adding that 60 were on board at the time of the crash in northern Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria. Prosecutors and police have begun investigating the cause of the accident, officials said. No information was provided about the identity of the dead or whether the driver was among the casualties.
