A teenage family named Makia Bryant, 15, by local media, said she sought help from police as a girl was fighting outside her home in Legion Lane, Columbus, Ohio.
A video disseminated on social media showed a victim in jeans and a trainer lying still on the ground while a police officer was standing nearby. Witnesses say the girl was shot in the chest.
Immediately after the shooting at around 4:30 pm, a crowd gathered near the scene and began shouting “no racist police” and “enough” to the gathered police officers.
In another video broadcast from the scene, one of the police officers shouted “Blue Lives Matter.”
