Suck a big wave from the Serena Hotel after the bomb explodes in Quetta

The attack targeted the Serena Hotel, which officials frequently visit

A bomb explosion at a luxury hotel in the Pakistani city of Quetta killed at least four people and injured 11 others.

According to correspondents, the Chinese ambassador to Pakistan is suspected of being targeted by an attack in the parking lot of the Serena Hotel.

He is understood to be in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan near the Afghan border, but he was not there at the time.

Pakistan’s Taliban claimed the attack without revealing details.

In recent months, groups and other militant groups have intensified their attacks in tribal areas near the border with Afghanistan.

The footage of the explosion was shared on social media in the aftermath, showing a raging fire in a hotel parking lot.

The Serena Hotel is the best known in Quetta and offers accommodation for government officials and senior visiting officials.

Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad told Pakistani broadcaster ARY News TV that “a car full of explosives exploded at the hotel.”

He added that Chinese ambassador Nonlong was not at the hotel because he was attending the event at the time.

Balochistan Interior Minister Ziaullah Lango told reporters that Mr Non was “energetic” and that his visit to Quetta would end on Thursday.

Balochistan is the scene of a long-standing separatist rebellion.

Radicals want independence from the rest of Pakistan and oppose major Chinese infrastructure projects in the region.
