In Portland, Oregon, a man was charged with prejudice on suspicion of attacking a man and his five-year-old daughter, believing they were Japanese.

Kesterson was imprisoned in Multnomah County Jail for one felony of one prejudice crime and two misdemeanors of two prejudice crimes. He was subsequently released and is scheduled to be prosecuted on Tuesday.
