A teen was killed on the Blue Ridge Parkway when the vehicle landed on a guardrail, investigators say


According to the National Park Service, a teenager was killed when a vehicle left the pavement and crashed along the Blue Ridge Parkway on Monday.

The unidentified driver was hospitalized with minor injuries.

“According to a preliminary survey, when the vehicle left the roadway and landed on a nearby guardrail, the vehicle was traveling south on a downhill curve,” said a park official.

“In addition, investigations are underway to determine if there are other factors.”

The National Park Service reports that Boldak’s death is counted as the fifth dead on park roads this year.
