According to officials, the minister was suffering from more possible criminal charges during a phone call from prison with his wife.
“I’m a dead man,” Brian Pounds told her, according to court documents.

At one point, Pound had a revolver in his head in his office and threatened to kill her and himself if she told someone, the affidavit says.
Police say they went to his house in Vernon for reports that he was threatening suicide after Pound learned of the investigation in July. Upon arriving there, police removed a .38 caliber revolver from the house. According to officials, a .38 caliber bullet was found at his desk during a search for the church.
According to the affidavit, Pound’s wife initially denied the knowledge that her husband was involved in “out-of-marriage relationships, improper relationships, or the use of methamphetamine.” After facing a prison phone recording, she “confirmed that she was dishonest” about her husband’s “relationship with other women and his use of methamphetamine,” the affidavit said.
The wife knew that her husband was exchanging inappropriate texts with a girl who is now an adult, but denied knowledge that they were engaged in sexual activity, the affidavit said.
God’s first rally did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Monday afternoon. Pound is no longer listed as a minister on the church website.
In the second case, Pound was arrested on three additional charges of child sexual assault.
