The ACAA advised the surrounding flight information areas that control the airspace, stating that all passages through the Kabul airspace are uncontrolled.

Kabul’s flight information area covers the entire Afghanistan.

Flightradar24, a flight tracking website, said on its Twitter account that Air India’s flight from Chicago to Delhi changed course and Terra Avia’s flight from Baku to Delhi also changed course while entering the airspace of Afghanistan. He said he was out soon.

Airlines and governments have been paying more attention to the risk of flying in conflict zones in recent years after two fatal incidents, including surface-to-air missiles.

A Malaysia Airlines plane was shot down in eastern Ukraine in 2014, killing all 298 people on board, and a Ukrainian International Airlines jet was shot down by Iranian forces in 2020, killing 176 passengers and all crew members. Did.

In July, the US Federal Aviation Administration imposed new flight restrictions on Afghanistan on US airlines and other US operators.

The FAA will not operate less than 26,000 feet in the Kabul Flight Information Region, which covers most of Afghanistan, unless it operates inside and outside Hamid Karzai International Airport because of the risks “caused by extremist / extremist activity”. He said it was banned.

This limitation does not apply to US military operations.

Other countries, including Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and France, have also advised airlines to maintain an altitude of at least 25,000 feet over Afghanistan, according to SafeAirspace, a website tracking such warnings. ..

Commercial aviation landing in Afghanistan is also affected by the turmoil on the ground. Emirates has suspended flights to Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, until further notice, the airline said on its website.
