Biden administration killed Cuban democratization: Cuban experts

Cuba’s democratic protests made an international headline a few months ago, but then suddenly disappeared. Marcel Felipe, a Cuban expert and active community leader among Cuban Americans, claims that it was the Biden administration that killed the Cuban democratization process.

Felipe is a lawyer and founder of the Inspire America Foundation, an organization dedicated to promoting democracy in Cuba and the Americas. In 2019 he Appointment Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis served on the board of Miami Dade College, one of the largest universities in the United States.

“The Biden administration really killed it,” Felipe told the NTD. “Parliament Building Report” Program during the National Conservatism Conference in Orlando.

“Frankly, this was an unprecedented protest. Thousands and tens of thousands of ordinary Cubans protesting the regime known to kill those who oppose it, the Stalinist regime in the 21st century. There was, “Felipe said. “So it was a really special moment.”

“Many Cuban Americans believed that the Biden administration would take advantage of this great opportunity to not only do the right thing for the Cubans, but to change the course of Florida’s elections,” Felipe said. I continued.

Felipe explained that Florida is considered the swing state of most elections, which is determined by 1 percent of the votes cast. Because less than 40% of Florida Cuban Americans are registered as Republicans, Democratic candidates who win more than 40% of Cuban American votes usually win the state. He said Cuban Americans make up 6% of registered voters, even though they make up only 3% of the population. “We are voters,” Felipe said.

“It would have been easy for President Biden to take a tough approach to Cuba and stand by the people of Cuba. That would have changed the election map,” Felipe continued. “It made all the political implications until we understood the influence Marxists within the Democratic Party had gained and what the blow to President Biden would be. It really tells you everything.”

“The Democrats failed to strengthen their foundation and instead, at their own risk, strengthened the foundation of Marxism within their party,” Felipe said.

“We really believe that the Biden administration will step up and speak directly to the Cuban generals, telling them,’It’s time to support the new Republic of Cuba or become the last dictator of the collapsed administration.'” Was there. Unfortunately, the Biden administration chose to speak to the Cuban government over the Cuban people and troops, “felipe continued, saying the opportunity was wasted.

The Epoch Times contacted the White House for comment.

The Biden administration has been criticized for responding to the Cuban protest that began on July 11.

First, the Deputy Secretary-General of the State Department described Cuba’s anti-government and anti-communist protests as a rally for COVID-19 death and drug shortages. Her words have caused intense criticism.

At Fox News Town Hall on July 21, Congressman Maria Salazar (Republican) and Senator Marco Rubio (Republican) accused him of not seeing Biden after 10 days of protest.

“We are very frustrated,” Salazar said.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has also joined the City Hall, calling on the Biden administration to take further action, especially to provide Internet access to all Cubans.

But Biden “basically sits there doing nothing,” “keeping these people dry,” DeSantis insisted.

On July 30, the Biden administration announced sanctions on the Cuban National Revolutionary Police and its top two officials.

“We hear a cry of freedom from the island. The United States is working in concert to strengthen the cause of the Cuban people,” said President Joe Biden at the time.

On August 13, the White House announced new sanctions on Cuban officials and the military.

Cultural Marxism is eating up America

Felipe explained that cultural Marxism was very active in the United States for a long time.

“Organized cultural Marxism has been very active in the United States for over 60 years and was so active that neither party could blame it,” Felipe said, devised by Antonio Gramsci. It was part of the plan that was made.

Gramsci was an Italian Marxist philosopher known for his theory of using cultural hegemony instead of power to rule society.

“Antonio Gramsci was a communist who believed that Stalin and Marx were all wrong, and Lenin was all wrong. But in fact, if you really wanted to change society, you would first destroy that culture and then We had to attack all the institutions and eat up the main people in power, in academia, in the media, and slowly. Those institutions, “said Felipe.

“Unfortunately, our party was trying to avoid the fight,” Felipe said. “And with each new concession, we get a little closer to their ultimate goal.”

Felipe gave an example of how cultural Marxism has been implemented in stages.

“They will, for example, withdraw Robert E. Lee’s decree, and many Democrats and Republicans alike, in the end, he will bring some sort of measure of peace and stability. You would say he was the Union Army. He was a rebel against the Union Army. If that means much of the other side, just give up. “

“The problem, as in many places, is to ask once to give up the statue of Ulysses Grant, who then fought slavery,” Felipe said. “And as soon as you succumb to it, you are the founding father, the United States, until you have nothing else to protect, or until you feel they are empowered enough to reveal them. The Constitution will have to be abandoned. True identity. “

Felipe said it was very dangerous.
