The current pandemic-related government moratorium on student loan interest and payments is set to expire at the end of August. Borrower balances have been frozen since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, and most federal student loan payments are no longer required after March 2020. Some debt relief advocates hope the administration will extend the current moratorium on student loan payments until the end of his 2020. He has also announced plans to forgive up to $10,000 in student debt for borrowers whose annual income falls below his $125,000.
