Two brothers, 10 and 14, surrendered to police on Monday. A fatal beating of a 73-year-old man with a traffic cone In Philadelphia, officials said.
Philadelphia police spokeswoman Tanya Ritter said in a statement that her unidentified brother had not yet been charged with the June 24 murder of James Lambert.
Suspicion of their involvement in the assault was not immediately apparent.
Authorities released a security video last week showing a group of people who appear to be attacking Lambert with a cone in their early to mid-teens.
Lambert died on June 25, officials said. The agency said in a statement that he had fallen to the ground after being beaten, injured and killed.
In the video, you can see what looks like a teenage boy and girl throwing a traffic cone three times at Lambert. You can see some others watching the incident.
Lambert looks blurry in the recording.
“How can you do that to someone?” Lambert’s sister, Elsie Stevens, Told to NBC Philadelphia.. “You have a mother and a father. How can you beat a man until you take off half of your skull?”
The Philadelphia Police Department last week provided a $ 20,000 bounty for information leading to the conviction of the murder. The department has released images of the seven people seen in the security video.
