Mississippi prepares to repair highway collapse from Aida

Mississippi will soon begin rebuilding some of the highways that collapsed during the torrential rains brought about by Hurricane Ida, the State Department chief said. On August 30, seven vehicles plunged into a deep, dark, countryside hole on Mississippi Highway 26 near Lucedale, killing two and injuring nine. Transport Department Director Brad White told legislative budget writers Friday that the ministry would complete a geoengineering review and select a company early next month to repair the damage for about $ 1.2 million.
