Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, many foreign fighters, including US citizens, have entered Ukraine to support the fight against Russian troops. Four months after the conflict, at least two veterans fighting with Ukrainian troops were captured, but the Kremlin claims that international law on prisoners of war does not apply.
