Oil CEO warns of market readiness to drop fossil fuels
The future transition from oil and gas to renewables has been “troublesome” for many years, and the conflict between supply and demand will lead to sharp fluctuations in energy prices, energy top executives said Tuesday. The World Oil Conference, a rally to discuss the future of oil and gas and explore new technologies, emerged as a counterpoint to the COP26 Climate Change Conference last month. Subhash Kumar, managing director of India’s state explorer Orlando Natural Gas Corp, has repeatedly warned that consumers and markets are not ready to move to clean fuels as quickly as they wish.
