Locals hit by a tsunami in Pacifica, California
A tsunami advisory was issued on the California coast and surrounding areas on Saturday, January 15, after an eruption of an underwater volcano near Tonga. In a footage shot by Pacifica-based Savannah Peterson, sea bubbles and waves rush to the beachfront on Saturday morning. I regularly shoot waves here, but I’ve never seen anything like this tsunami, “Peterson told the story. Mild to moderate floods are expected in lowlands such as harbors and shallows, and tsunami warnings have also occurred in Pacific regions such as Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
