Dark shapes seen by drone in forest pond solve mystery for 26-year-old, Texas police say

The vehicle was last registered to a resident of neighboring Angelina County. Wallace said investigators spoke with the man and learned that the car was stolen “around 1996.”

“We were a little nervous about what we would find in the car, but found nothing but a child’s car seat, a few unopened cans of Budweiser beer, and a few unopened items. I am pleased to report that the catfish,” Wallace said.

Investigators don’t know who stole the car 26 years ago or why.
