Early voting for the May 1st City and Board of Education elections begins on Monday.
Fort Worth residents will vote for the mayor out of 10 candidates who want to replace Betsy Price, who has not asked for reelection in 10 years. Almost 50 operate in eight council districts. Arlington voters also elect a new mayor and four city council members.
Residents of Southeastern Tarrant County, including most of Arlington and Mansfield, choose from 23 candidates to fill the seats of Ron Wright in the House of Representatives. Arlington Republican Wright died on February 7 after the fight against COVID-19 and lung cancer.
The school board race is also on the ballot.
Voters can expect the COVID-19 protocol to be implemented.
Pollsters should wear face masks and voters should be at a distance. Workers ask voters to disinfect their hands before and after voting, and equipment is cleaned hourly.
Voters do not have to wear masks as in the fall elections, but the county recommends that everyone wear masks.
