Dubai, United Arab Emirates — A massive fire broke out at a luxury hotel in Dubai on Wednesday, forcing guests and staff to smoke away from the tourism and trade center of the United Arab Emirates.
The five-star Swissôtel Al Murooj Hotel in downtown Dubai was equipped with several fire trucks and police cars as dozens of people flocked outside. No injuries have been reported.
After the rescuers fought the flames for about an hour, the fire appeared to be extinguished and no damage was visible. Police have begun guiding guests to the lobby directly opposite Burj Khalifa, the tallest tower in the world.
In a video posted on social media, a giant orange flame pops out of a glamorous roof, swirling dark black smoke over the skyline.
In recent years, a series of fires in Dubai’s skyscrapers studded with skyscrapers has revived doubts about the safety of coverings and other materials used domestically.
