Fear of the unknown at the forefront of Ukraine

The Ukrainian town of Krasnogorivka is located on a government-controlled territory near the poor suburbs of Donetsk, a Russian-backed separatist base. The citizens there know the pain of war and personal loss. “We live in constant fear,” says six mothers, Natalia Shanovska. Sergiy Fedenko, director of the town hospital, turned the basement into a temporary shelter in case Russian tanks crossed the border.
