German consumer group sues Tesla for privacy concerns, CO2 advertising

Berlin — Germany’s largest consumer protection group, VZBV, has filed a lawsuit against Tesla in a Berlin court on suspicion of misleading advertising and data protection breaches, the group said Tuesday.

According to the group, Tesla has made misleading statements about how much carbon dioxide emissions consumers can save when buying Tesla’s electric vehicles.

According to VZBV, the car’s sentry mode, which records the surroundings, also violates data protection laws.
