After Apple greatly strengthened the privacy protection of the platform through iOS 14.5, Google’s Android has also taken corresponding actions.according toFinancial TimesAccording to reports, Google has recently informed developers that it will further restrict the tracking of mobile ads on Android devices. The new measures mainly protect the advertising ID corresponding to the device. For users who refuse to be tracked, app developers will only receive a “string of zeros” without any useful information when they try to obtain their Advertising ID in the future.
Although users can currently restrict advertising tracking and reset Advertising ID on their own devices, developers can still find a way to break through the block if they want to. According to Google, this improvement has actually been brewing for a long time. The new features will first appear on Android 12 devices from the end of 2021, and then cover all products equipped with the Google Play store in early 2022.
