C-SPAN anchor Greta Brauner confirmed the facts of far-right Rep. Andy Biggs (R, Arizona) during a viewer call-in on Friday.
On the Washington Journal show, one caller told Biggs, “I want to pardon a traitor convicted of a seditious conspiracy” for the deadly Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol. He said how angry he was about former President Donald Trump’s wishes.
“Come on. What’s wrong with Republicans?” he asked Biggs.
Biggs, who helped organize the “Stop the Steal” rally shortly before the riots, falsely claimed that no one had been convicted of sedition.
“Not everyone was convicted of treason. In fact, no one was! And it’s important to understand that,” he said. “The second thing I want to say is that many of them were convicted of misdemeanor trespassing. “
After receiving the second call, Brauner went back to Biggs’ original response and said:
“Okay,” Biggs replied. “Well, well, I didn’t follow the case.”
