Governor of Arkansas aims to reverse increasing hospitalizations and low immunization rates

Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson Said Hospitalizations are increasing among unvaccinated people, and vaccination is delayed in his state while appearing on CBS’s “Face the Nation” on Sunday.

Important reason: In states across the country, there is a trend of concern about increased hospitalizations and delayed vaccinations. Arkansas, in particular, has one of the lowest immunization rates in the country, according to Politico.

  • “One of the challenges was the fact that it was under the FDA’s Emergency Use Authorization,” Hutchinson said. “So we need to complete the study for final approval. I think it helps.”

  • “We saw a decrease in hospitalizations, which reduced the urgency of vaccination,” the Republican Party said of the decline in vaccination rates.

  • But “if the incentives don’t work, the reality works. The more hospitalizations, the more cases. I think the vaccination rate will go up,” he added.
