Grandpa punched daughter’s fiancée for pulling pants down before 5, says PA cop

A 5-year-old girl’s grandfather caught her daughter’s fiancé pulling down his pants in front of the child, according to Pennsylvania officials.

According to court documents obtained by McClatchy News, the granddaughter walked past a bedroom in an apartment complex and saw his granddaughter sitting in the lap of his daughter’s fiancée, Aaron Kunagin, 22, on Aug. 24. According to an affidavit, he thought this was “strange, but I hadn’t thought of anything else.”

After a few minutes, the grandfather began to think the bedroom was “too quiet” and went to have a look, the affidavit said.

When he entered the room, he found Kunagin pulling down his pants and exposing his genitals in the corner of the bedroom. A 5-year-old girl also had her pants pulled down, exposing her genitals. According to her affidavit, her grandfather beat her, yelled at her, and called the police.

The Middletown Borough Police Department arrives at the apartment, arrested Cunagin, according to a news release dated Aug. 25.

Kunagin later told police that he felt “paralyzed” during the incident and was “fighting with himself over whether or not to have sex with the victim,” according to the criminal complaint.

The victim said there had been five previous incidents, as affidavits show, but Kunagin denied them.

According to the news release, Kunagin faces charges of child rape, lewd assault, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of a minor, and lewd exposure.

He was indicted on August 24 and sent to Dauphin County Correctional Facility after failing to post $150,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 7, court records show.

Middletown is about 95 miles west of Philadelphia.
