A gunman search is underway after a man was found shot dead on Sunday morning, according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Office.
There was no word as to whether the man lived in a dwelling or how the sheriff’s department learned about shooting.
According to the release, the victim and his murderer probably knew each other.
“There is no reason to believe this is a random act,” Sheriff Jay Kuhn said in the release. “Based on the information gathered in the field, the victims may have had some relationship with the shooter. They knew each other at some level or had some kind of connection.”

No other injuries have been reported by the sheriff’s department.
Nothing is said about the shooter’s description or motive for shooting.
The sheriff’s department said they did not believe in the threat to the shooter community.
“Crime scene investigators are at home collecting potential evidence,” Kuhn said. “The detective talks with neighbors and witnesses to stitch together the sequence of events leading up to the shooting and see if any of them can help find the shooter.”
