Hockey Canada has confirmed that interim chairman of the organization’s board of directors, Andrea Skinner, has submitted his resignation.

Skinner assumed the role in August after former chairman Michael Brindamore stepped down.

Skinner volunteered on the Board of Hockey Canada in November 2020.

Hockey Canada has been out of action since May after it emerged that an undisclosed settlement was paid to a woman who alleged she had been sexually assaulted by eight players after the 2018 gala in London, Ontario. It has undergone rigorous scrutiny. The woman claimed she filed a $3.55 million lawsuit and that the assault involved a member of the country’s world junior team.

Allegations of gang sexual assault involving the 2003 World Junior Team surfaced in July.

Neither claim has been proven in court.
