Is it … a tree?

On the outside, a four-bedroom, five-bathroom home in Naperville looks like it could appear in a Hallmark Christmas movie with vintage porch charm. However, the 4,300-square-foot interior is a completely different ball game, at least when it comes to bedrooms with very large, highly random trees inside.

And it’s not listed at all.

“When you enter, you’ll be amazed at the three-story staircase with custom chandeliers and stained glass details,” the Zillow.com list says. “Vintage pocket doors lead you to a new dining room with crystal sconces and chandeliers. The perimeter of the 1880s fireplace is being reused to create drama and interest in this family-centric area. The kitchen has been upgraded with Italian range hoods, Calcutta gold marble backsplash, semi-custom hardware, pottery barn lighting, flat screen TVs and custom banquets / tables. “

When talking about bedrooms, there is no mention of the danger of hitting the ankle that takes over one bedroom. Century 21 list agent Michelle Walker told McClatchy News that the house was a rehab project where she lived for three years.

“I contacted the original builder to ask the same question,” Walker told McClutch. “Apparently, the tree is in the possession of a friend along the road, and they craned it and put it in place through the dormer. It was placed on the ground and attached to the rafters on the roof.”

She added that some tree houses aren’t on the list.

“The trees in the playroom would be strange and fun in the bedroom,” one observed. “Maybe they had a pet cougar that protected them at night from there.”

“Okay, I love this house …. whatever the tree, I’m sure my cat will love it,” said another.

“I love this house … trees and everything,” said one. “Well, I could do it without the pillars in the bathroom.”

“I like the fact that the tree isn’t mentioned at all in the overview,” another person noticed.

“Look at the rest of the house … * chef’s kiss *,” said one fan.

“Some people want a man’s cave, others want a tree house … the rest of the house is gorgeous!” Another note.

“I don’t notice the tree because the lights are off and I’m a little distracted,” wrote one person. “I find a toilet at 4am and try to break my leg.”

“It’s a fashionable house, but I’ve already stumbled upon a tree in my bed,” another person joked.

“Obviously we will cover the trees with cloth and build a fort,” one offered.

“I’m good at wood,” another said. “What I’m worried about is the smooth steps to the bathtub.”

“That house is pure white,” one person observed. “I’m going to pretend that nothing is strange about trees. That’s what I’m trying to do.”

And finally…

“I think the asking price includes a chainsaw.”
