China sold 1.7 million NEVs between January and August, which is expected to nearly triple year-on-year.

China, the world’s largest car market, is expected to sell 1.7 million new energy vehicles (NEVs) in the first eight months of this year, up from 600,000 during the same period last year. The deputy industry minister said on Saturday. The comment was made by Deputy Minister of Industry and Information Technology, China, at an industry conference in Tianjin hosted by the China Automotive Technology Research Center (CATARC). NEVs include battery-powered electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles, and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
