German Foreign Ministry says the ambassador to China has died
According to the German Foreign Ministry, Germany’s new ambassador to China, a former adviser to Chancellor Merkel, has died. In a brief statement, the Foreign Ministry said that Merkel’s former foreign policy adviser, Jan Hecker, had died just days after taking office. “It is deeply sad and disappointing to know the death of Chinese ambassador to Germany, Professor Jan Hecker,” the ministry said in a statement on its website.
