Mariah Carey answered a question about the advice she would give her 12-year-old self. New interview with People —and it included some beauty tips.
The “Fantasy” singer spoke candidly about her experience growing up in mixed race. Talk to People’s Jason Sheeler : “I wasn’t that little girl with long silky hair and freckles who lived next door. And I didn’t fit in with that.”
According to Carey, she struggled when it came to fashion and grooming, is a style icon for many today.
“I had three shirts and my hair was textured, honey…it was some textures that didn’t work together,” the pop star explained. I hate to use words, but it wasn’t a fashion show.”
Finally, “All I Want For Christmas Is You” Singer She revealed what she would tell her younger self to “save” money for hair products.
“Buy some conditioner and a comb, get your hair wet, let it air dry with the conditioner on, and you’ll be fine,” says Carrie. told people Advice to my 12 year old self. “Oh, I said, ‘Don’t shave your eyebrows. It’ll never look good on you.'”
Just in time for the holidays, Carrie recently released a new children’s book called A Christmas Princess. In this book, a young girl named “Little Mariah” struggles to overcome bullying from her peers, but eventually finds solace in her music and self-love.
‘It’s not Prince Charming coming in,’ says Carey told people Little Mariah happy ending. “She saves my day.”
