COLDWATER — 33-year-old Matthew Jackson faces at least 10 to 30 years in prison for what prosecutor Zak Stempien called “the most serious domestic violence case I’ve ever seen.” It will be.
Jackson thought his girlfriend might be cheating on him, so he provided evidence of video surveillance at Quincy’s Glen Avenue apartment.
Circuit Court Judge Bill O’Grady imposed a prison sentence after Jackson failed to contest wrongful imprisonment as a second offender.

Stempien said that Jackson “just terrorized her and beat her horribly. Her courage to go to court, to testify on her preliminary exams, to appear in court, to see this through to the end, is truly incredible.” It takes courage.”
This incident stems from an incident that occurred in September 2022.
On Sept. 17, Jackson scolded a victim for leaving his wallet at the store. As she went to the door, Jackson grabbed her from behind, threw her to the floor and kicked her in the head, then Jackson grabbed her again and threw her onto her sofa. . He put his hands around her neck, strangled her, and punched her in the face.
On September 29, Jackson closed the computer in the victim’s hand and flicked cigarettes and other objects at her. He cursed her and drew her attention to her bruised face.
Two days later, Jackson claimed someone was deleting the video from his system. He grabbed her from the couch her victim was sleeping on and attacked her.
A neighbor called 911 on October 1st. Jackson got into a fight with the Branch County Sheriff’s Deputy who answered the call.
After the arrest, the victim told police about the abuse.
