Demonstrating great confidence in Blue Origin’s New Shepard manned cabin, the outgoing Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos announced that he will board BO with his brother Mark Bezos. The first suborbital manned flight is expected to take place on July 20. Mission, travel to space. Along with him, there will be another private tourist funder who will bid for the opportunity to go to space with the richest person in the world. After knowing that Bezos will be in the same industry, it must have pushed the price upward a lot. The bidding proceeds will be used by BO Club for the Future, a fund focused on STEM education. The final bidder will be announced in the on-site bidding on June 12.
Jeff Bezos is scheduled to step down as CEO on July 5th and only serve as executive chairman, and hand over the position of CEO to Andy Jassy, who is currently in charge of AWS.
