Jon Stewart Admitted the mistake he made Donald Trump We first announced the presidential candidate in 2015.
At the time, the organizers of The Daily Show believed that the personality of reality shows was the comedy’s “gift from heaven.”
But in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter released Wednesday, Stewart didn’t think Trump’s “certainty, his ridiculousness, and his shamelessness made him dangerous.” He said he misunderstood.
“I thought it made him Bahoon, and I thought it would disqualify him,” said Stewart, whose new Apple TV + show “The Problem With Jon Stewart” debuts on September 30th.
“What it did made him a perfect ship,” Stewart continued. “You have to be shameless to do something shameful.”
“I’m not saying he’s the same as these guys, but the most dangerous guys are those who look cartoonish and ridiculous,” Stewart added. “Saddam Hussein seems ridiculous. Mu’ammar Kadafi stood in Kaftan and ranted like a madman.”
