District judge William Lafortune sentenced David Ware to death.
The jury recommended the death penalty In the case of Ware last month, after he was found guilty of all charges, including: Primary murder and shooting intended for murder.
The jury determined that Ware was responsible for the death of the sergeant. Craig Johnson and Officer Orush Zarkeshan, who was seriously injured in June 2020.
Ware was also found guilty of four non-capital charges, including shooting intended for killing, possession of firearms after being convicted of a former felony, illegal possession of controlled drugs for distribution, and sabotage.
Ware was sentenced to life imprisonment for shooting with the intention of killing the indictment, 30 years for possession of firearms after being convicted of a former felony, 25 years for possession of drugs, and 1 year for obstruction.
