Key Georgia football support staff resigns during college investigation

Josh Lee, Director of Georgia Football Operations has resigned since December 2014.

Lee was the main staff under the head coach Kirby smart He was with him for all six seasons.

The resignation occurs during an investigation by the Equal Opportunity Department of UGA. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution..

Lee did not respond to a request for comment by Athens Banner Herald on Monday night.

“The Athletic Association can confirm that Joshley has resigned to pursue other professional opportunities. No further comments,” UGA Athletic said in a statement late Monday night.

Prior to joining the SEC, Lee was a football tycoon lining up a non-conference schedule that included five powerful conference partners, including Ohio State University, Florida State University, Oklahoma State University, and Texas State University.

Lee’s annual salary was $ 208,000.

He was also responsible for overseeing team-related activities such as travel and program budgets.

Lee was a graduate assistant to Georgia staff for two years from 2005, when Smart was back coaching. Lee mainly worked in wide receivers.

He worked for UAB from 2006 to 2011 and spent three seasons as director of football operations. He worked for the technology industry in Birmingham for three years before returning to UGA.

Lee is a graduate of Valdosta State University who worked in a quarterback at the school in 2003-04.

Georgia is practicing for the December 31st Orange Bowl in Miami this week. The team will arrive on Sunday to prepare for the week of the match.
