Canadians Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor are on their way back to Canada, Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said at a press conference on the evening of September 24th.
Trudeau announced hours after Huawei’s chief financial officer Meng Wanzhou was withdrawn and allowed to leave Canada.
She reportedly left Canada by plane to China the same night.
Earlier that day, Meng appeared in US federal court, where she reached a postponed prosecution agreement with the US Department of Justice.
She later appeared in a Canadian court, where the bail conditions were lifted and her freedom was granted.
