Labrador Congressman Yvonne Jones is taking a leave of absence to deal with a recurrence of breast cancer.
The parliamentary secretary to the minister of natural resources and the minister of northern affairs said in a video on social media that she was diagnosed in September.
Jones said the diagnosis was made in the early stages of the disease, adding that he will be away from duty to undergo treatment and surgery if necessary.
