Lawrence O’donnell took a closer look at one of the most significant allegations in a new lawsuit filed against Rudy Giulianiformer New York City mayor and longtime henchman donald trump.
This is a claim Giuliani made to his former aide, now Noel Dunphy. sue for alleged sexual coercion and other claims, He could arrange a pardon for President Trump for $2 millionhimself and the then president split the money.
O’Donnell pointed out: Bill BerleThe former Trump attorney general gave a rather lukewarm response when asked if he thought it was possible.
“I’m skeptical about that. I don’t think Rudy Giuliani would do that. I hope he doesn’t, but I don’t know,” Barr told Fox News.
O’Donnell was stunned.
“Don’t you know?” he said. “William Burr knows Rudolph Giuliani well. Mr. William Burr knows Donald Trump well. And the two worked together to sell a $2 million pardon and split the money. When asked if he could have done so, William Barr replied, “I don’t know.”
O’Donnell said any other attorney general not appointed by Trump or Richard Nixon would have given a “very, very strong answer.”
But Barr didn’t — and O’Donnell found it very suggestive, as he explained on Wednesday night’s “The Last Word.”
