U.S. to restore full pension for FBI agents fired under Trump
Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe has regained his pension in full as part of a settlement of proceedings resulting from a shooting in the Trump administration more than three years ago, his lawyer said Thursday. McCabe, a frequent target of President Donald Trump’s anger at the time, was dismissed in March 2018 after concluding that a Justice Department inspector general approved the disclosure of information to newspaper reporters. Misleaded internal investigators about his role in the leak. The dismissal by then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions took place hours before McCabe was due to retire and refused FBI officials’ pensions.
