Lockheed delivers the first model of a new rocket launcher to the U.S. military

Lockheed Martin, a defense industry contractor, said Tuesday that it had handed over the first model of its latest mobile rocket launcher to the U.S. military.

The United States and its allies recently supplied Ukraine with billions of dollars worth of weapons to help Moscow repel the Russian invasion that it claims to be a “special operations.”

Lockheed said the new multiple launch rocket system, named M270A2, can be transported by the large military transport aircraft C-17 and C-5.

The UK, a customer of the M270A2, said last month that it would supply Ukraine with some of its older multiple launcher systems capable of attacking targets up to 80 km (50 miles) away.
