McDonald’s announced Thursday that it will test a plant-based McDonald’s burger, developed in partnership with vegan meat maker Beyond Meat, at eight stores in the United States next month.
The fast-food chain, which partnered with Beyond Meat in February to develop a meatless alternative, said it would begin testing hamburgers for a limited time starting November 3.
McPlant burgers are already on sale in some countries, including Sweden, Denmark and the United Kingdom.
McDonald’s added that the test would run as long as the supply continued.
Beyond Meat’s share rose 3% in pre-marketing transactions.
