Officials said Tuesday that six Mexicans had been accused of abducting nine and killing six, including three Americans.

The group, based in Tijuana, Mexico, is under the control of Mexican authorities and has been charged there, a US law firm in Central California said in a news release.

It was not immediately clear where they were detained and what was being blamed in Mexico.

A spokesman for the Federal Prosecution Service in California did not say whether they would be taken to the United States.

In the United States, the group has been accused of running a kidnapping gang for four months last year, and was announced to have brutally beat the victims by pretending to be a victim at a meeting and shooting a gun.

After the victims were assaulted, the group called relatives and demanded money and cars in exchange for their release. If the ransom was not paid, the victim was killed, Release said.

Officials say the group has also been accused of killing victims, despite receiving a ransom to protect allegations of “conspiracy.”

A federal grand jury has charged the group with plots of attempting to take hostages, death-causing plots, blackmail and other crimes.

In one case, the gang demanded $ 25,000 for his release after a US citizen in Southern California was kidnapped while visiting a relative in Tijuana on April 11, the release said.

The group allegedly killed him after his mother provided $ 1,000 and his son’s car. According to the release, his body was found in Mexico the next day.

No victims were identified.

In another April incident, a Pasadena woman told authorities that the group demanded $ 20,000 in exchange for the release of relatives. Mexican officials have found the victim alive in a hotel in Tijuana. It was unclear if the ransom was paid.

Authorities have identified the alleged mastermind of the gang as German Garcia Jera Hernandez, 37.

Others charged include Gilberto Omar Avila Lopez, 27 years old. Aylin Estrada Reyes, 24; Joel Eduardo Mascorro Delgado, 22 years old. Victoria Camilla Espinoza Ballardo, 22; and Oscar Bautista Valencia, 30.
