Olav, now a tropical cyclone, brings heavy rains to Baja California Sur, Mexico
Mexico City (Reuters)-Olav was downgraded to a tropical depression, with maximum sustained winds approaching 70 mph (110 km / h) on Friday, hitting Baja California Sur, Mexico with heavy rains. The US-based National Hurricane Center (NHC) said. According to the Miami-based NHC, the center of Olav was located about 65 miles west of Lapas, Mexico, traveling northwest at 1500 miles GMT and 10 mph. “Forecasts say that the center of Olaf will move along the southwest coast of Baja California Sur today and will move west from land by tonight,” NHC said.
