2022 will be the first year the state of Texas will represent Asian American women in both the Miss USA and Miss America pageants. As reported by ABC News.
During the Miss USA Q&A round, Gabriel talked about climate change. She also shared her belief that individuals can impact the planet through their careers and lifestyles.
“I’m a fashion designer. I actually make the clothes that I wear,” she said. I recycle a variety of clothing because I feel it’s my duty to do so, so what can we all look for to make it more sustainable in certain industries and homes I think.”
Gabrielle made her first Miss USA stage appearance on Sunday night during a state costume contest.
She wore a handcrafted ensemble designed by Filipino designer Patrick Isolena. skirt.
The costume included over 5,000 stones and a blue fabric representing the state flower of Texas. Its flowing design was also intended to reflect the movement of bluebonnet flowers in the winds of Texas.
Gabriel previously graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in fashion design. She currently works as a designer creating eco-friendly clothing and as a model.
Her hobbies include vintage thrift shopping, yoga, drawing, and hula hooping.
