Missouri State Commission recommends expulsion of state legislators on suspicion of abuse of his children

The Missouri House of Representatives recommended that Lee’s summit member Rick Roeber drop out because of the discovery that he had sexually and physically abused adult children at an early age.

In a House Ethics Commission report on the issue released late Monday, a group of bipartisan lawmakers considered freshman Republican whistleblowers credible. According to the report, they testified that he had committed acts that constitute “sexual contact” or “deviation of sexual intercourse” under Missouri law.

The Commission also found charges of physical abuse by Roeber, including a beating and leaving an injured eyelid on one child. The Commission said the evidence in the case, including testimony from five witnesses, was “clear and compelling.”

Less than a week after the House of Representatives unanimously took the extraordinary step of leaving Labor as a state representative while the Commission completed the investigation, severe findings came out.

Roeber tried to resign as the Commission’s investigation came to a conclusion, but after Congressman Refused to resign last Thursday, He is now faced with being the second Missouri congressman ever exiled. The first time was during the Civil War.

Two-thirds of the House of Representatives votes are required to expel him.

The Commission reported that the rover, who testified on the defense in front of the Ethics Commission, was “combat, defensive, rebellious, and sometimes angry.” According to the report, he called the accusation a “political blow” and said “all my children are Democrats.”

Roeber’s adult children went public last fall on charges of abuse Interview with Star Editorial Board.. Allegations dating back to the early 90’s were recorded in the swearing testimony nearly 20 years ago.

Star’s report was released after Labor had already won the Republican primary without opposition. In November he defeated the Democratic candidate with 301 votes.

He was banished from the Republican caucuses when he took office.

Roeber’s adopted daughter, Anastasia Roeber, states that she made inappropriate sexual progress towards her in 1990 when she was nine years old. Gabriel Galeano said he realized he was suspected of being abused while living with Anastasia, Samson, and another brother.

Last week, Republican Speaker Rob Vescovo also wrote to Jackson County prosecutor Jean Peters Baker last week, asking him to help Raber secure the children he regularly contacted. Reported by Missouri Independent..

“I’ve learned the information that needs to be forwarded to the appropriate authorities in your jurisdiction,” wrote Holtz Summit Republicans Veskovo and Travisfitswater, who chair the Ethics Commission.

Roeber denied allegations of abuse. Last fall, he wrote, “Parental Alienation Syndrome (PAS) is a very real mental illness in today’s world.”

He did not mention the investigation in his resignation, only saying that he and his fiancé would move out of state.

Roeber holds the seat of his late wife, Rebecca Roeber, who died in 2019 four months after being seriously injured in a car accident.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
