montreal Police have launched an investigation into the murder of an 81-year-old woman who died last week in a senior home.
Police spokesman Const. Julien Lévesque said paramedics called him to police on Oct. 22 after responding to a request for medical assistance at his home on the eastern edge of the city and finding the woman dead.
The files were first forwarded to the coroner’s office to determine the cause of death.
Levesque said the coroner’s office returned the files to police on Thursday after evidence of violence was found in the body.
This is the second case in which a woman has been allegedly murdered. montreal・Local elderly housing within a week.
On October 20, an 82-year-old man was charged with murdering his 90-year-old partner in a house outside Vaudreuil-d’Orion.
