NEW YORK (AP) — A medical worker convicted of manslaughter who lethally administered his 8-year-old autistic son has died by suicide, officials said.
Gigi Jordan, 62 Convicted in 2014 For murdering her son, Jude Milla, she was found dead in her Brooklyn home on Dec. 30. The city’s coroner’s office ruled Wednesday that the cause of death was suicide by asphyxiation. bottom.
Jordan, a nurse who made millions as a medical entrepreneur, was charged with murder after her son died in a Manhattan hotel room in February 2010.
Jordan’s attorneys alleged she shoved a lethal dose of drugs down Jude’s throat because she believed one of her ex-husbands wanted to kill her and another would sexually abuse Jude. Both men denied Jordan’s allegations.
A federal judge ordered a new trial in Jordan in 2020, but the order canceled on appeal May 2022.
Jordan was released on house arrest as he continued his efforts to appeal his conviction, but was found dead the day after U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor made a judgment That would have sent her back to state prison.
