NASA probe successfully collides with asteroid
NASA successfully tested the Double Asteroid Redirection Test Spacecraft (DART), which collided with an asteroid Monday night. On the receiving end of that collision is a smaller asteroid, Dimorphus, the moon of a larger cosmic rock, Didymos. These instruments give viewers their first glimpse of Didymos, allowing the spacecraft to autonomously maneuver into a direct collision with the small asteroid Dimorphos.
