NASA captures footage of Hurricane Ian from the International Space Station

NASA shared footage of Hurricane Ian as seen from the International Space Station (ISS) on Monday, September 26th. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) upgraded Ian to a Category 2 hurricane after he recorded wind speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour. Life-threatening storm surges, hurricane-strength winds and flash floods could be expected in western Cuba by Tuesday evening. “Efforts to protect life and property must be completed urgently,” the center said. Threats to Florida’s West Coast, with areas from Fort Myers to Tampa Bay most at risk. Heavy rain is expected in the Florida Keys and southern Florida, and tropical storm conditions could be expected in western central Florida by Tuesday evening, he said. Credit: NASA via Storyful
